Movers and Shakers: New Recruit and Senior Promotion at Leicester PR and Publishing Company

The team at Leicester-based PR and Publishing company, Fraser Urquhart Media, have welcomed former BID Leicester and Leicester City Council alumni, Sarinda Bains, into the business and celebrated the promotion of Rebecca Rhodes to Account Director.

With almost a decade of experience in marketing and PR, Sarinda started her career working as part of the marketing team at Leicester City Council. She played a key role in the King in the Car Park campaign, centred around the discovery and eventual reinterment of King Richard III in the now-famous Leicester car park. In addition to this, Sarinda also worked on re-branding and launching the Visit Leicester website and delivering the communications campaign for Leicester City Football Club’s Premier League Victory Parade in 2016.

After six years with the Council, Sarinda moved to the BID Leicester team, where she planned and delivered all marketing and communications activity from launching Independent Leicester, to organising events and delivering her first TV campaign. Her move to Fraser Urquhart Media, where she has taken up the position of Senior Account Manager, comes after three years at BID Leicester.

Sarinda comments: “After working with the Fraser Urquhart Media team as part of my role at the BID, I was always impressed by their project delivery and results, as well as how easy they were to work with! I’m very much looking forward to developing my PR knowledge by learning from the team, as well as bringing my experience and creativity to help deliver outstanding projects and successes for our clients going forward.”

Rebecca joined the FU Media team as Senior Account Manager back in April 2019, having previously worked with some of the biggest national and international brands in the country. She started her PR career at Next working regionally and internationally, travelling across the UK and Ireland, as well as Russia and Australia. After seven years at Next, Rebecca then went agency-side, working with clients such as Goldsmiths, Dr Martens, Parkdean Resorts, Flymo, Husquvarna and Fenwick, before taking on a role at health food giant, Holland & Barrett.

Her time at FU Media has seen her lead on some of the businesses’ biggest clients and projects alongside founders Kevin Urquhart and Jonathan Fraser. Having successfully delivered launches for restaurants such as Sonrisa, Orton’s and Turtle Bay, Rebecca continues to lead on projects as diverse as the ongoing Independent Leicester retail campaign; launch and development of Leicester Restaurant Week and regional food tourism campaigns for a cricketing legend-turned chef in Rutland, alongside supporting with the wider business growth plans of FU Media.

“I’m incredibly proud to be starting a new chapter with the FU Media team in my role as Account Director.” Rebecca comments. “It’s been wonderful to see the business adapt, evolve and grow, despite what the last 18 months have thrown at us all. I’m very much looking forward to bringing our future plans to fruition alongside our fantastic founders, Kevin and Jon.”

Managing Director, Kevin Urquhart comments; “This is an incredibly exciting time for FU Media. The new appointment and promotion of these two high-calibre members of staff show our confidence and faith in the FU Media brand, our many partners and our dedicated team. FU Media prides itself on commercially-led PR that achieves real results and, throughout the pandemic, we lived by the mantra that ‘silence is not golden’. Our business growth throughout this tumultuous trading period is testament to the results and impact we’ve been achieving for our clients.”
