COVENTRY BID TEAM CELEBRATED AS UK BUSINESS HEROES

The Coventry BID team, headed up by BID Director Trish Willetts, are celebrating becoming UK Business Heroes this week, as they received a Royal nod from HRH The Countess of Wessex GCVO, thanks to being nominated by the Coventry Chamber of Commerce.

The campaign was set up by the British Chamber of Commerce and recognises those businesses who have gone the extra mile to help during the Coronavirus pandemic. This year has brought numerous challenges to many people, but has also shone a light on those who have gone above and beyond.

Trish and the team have worked tirelessly to support BID businesses throughout the pandemic, whilst also championing Coventry as the city to watch. In spite of everything, new businesses have continued to be introduced into the city, whilst others used their time in lockdown to re-brand, all with the support of the BID.

When businesses were able to re-open again, the BID team supported throughout, providing signs, floor stickers, masks and guidance to ensure all were able to comply with Government guidelines.

Keen to bring joy in to the city as the year draws to a close, there has been an amazing events programme planned in partnership with other key stakeholders – including Coventry UK City of Culture 2021 – centred around bringing people back in to the city and showing it off in the best possible way.

Trish Willetts, Coventry BID Director, comments: “We are absolutely thrilled to have been awarded the accolade of UK Business Heroes and are so grateful for the nomination from our great friends at the Coventry Chamber of Commerce.

“This year has been incredibly tough for so many of us, but we have been determined to stay strong and come out fighting – not just for us as a BID team, but for all our wonderful businesses too. Our great city has so much to be proud of and we can’t wait to celebrate further as 2021 begins and the spotlight is firmly, and deservedly, shining on Coventry.”
