Remember a time when your fringe covered at least one eye, your MSN name was basically a cry for help, and your iPod Classic knew your feelings better than anyone else? Then good news: that version of you is getting a night out!

For one night only, Cosmic Emo Night at the National Space Centre will be proving that you were right all along and it was never just a phase, by turning up the volume on heartbreak teenage angst and giving it a cosmic upgrade. Think less bedroom floor staring sessions and more fully immersive throwback to the golden era of 2006–2012, where Myspace ruled, your eyeliner had purpose, and every lyric hit like it was written specifically about your life (it was, obviously).
The evening unfolds across the galleries of the National Space Centre with a mix of live music, nostalgia and just the right amount of melodrama. Early arrivals can explore the galleries before diving headfirst into karaoke sessions that may or may not turn into full emotional releases. Meanwhile, the Emo-in-Orbit DJ set will keep the mood hovering somewhere between “I’m fine” and “nobody understands me like you do.”
Taking centre stage, live band ‘Just a Phase’ will deliver two high-energy sets packed with the anthems that defined a generation — from Fall Out Boy to Blink-182, Green Day to Jimmy Eat World. Expect crowd-wide scream-singing, dramatic pointing at the ceiling, and at least one moment where everyone realises, they still know every single word.
Elsewhere, the Galactic Heartbreak Lounge offers a place to regroup, refuel, and sip on themed cocktails designed to pair nicely with existential feelings. And talking of feelings, if we’re still eating those then there’s themed food on hand too!

As the night continues, the DJ takes over for a full emo throwback session, keeping the energy going until last orders. By midnight, guests will drift back to Earth — emotionally drained, slightly hoarse, and probably wondering why they ever stopped dressing like that
Speaking of dress code, expect to lean unapologetically toward Tumblr-era excellence. Skinny jeans, band tees, studded belts and checkered Vans are not just welcome — they’re positively encouraged. Dramatic posing is optional, but no one’s judging.
Tickets are limited, with standard entry priced at £27.50, including an arrival drink, live band access, karaoke, and entry to the National Space Centre exhibitions.
Look out for additional treats like themed cocktails, hard shakes, a themed photo booth and a few additional surprises throughout the night alongside all of the National Space Centre’s galleries and exhibitions which will be fully open to explore.
