Raja Monkey to create one day only restaurant experience at luxury Mailbox store

One of Birmingham’s best-loved Indian restaurants, Raja Monkey, has teamed up with Harvey Nichols Birmingham to host an afternoon of sumptuous South Asian dining in the heart of the city. Hall Green’s favourite has created a luxurious three course menu for this one day only event on Sunday 7 August, featuring a selection of the most popular dishes curated by Chef Munayam Khan.

Led by Chef Patron (and owner), Munayam Khan, Raja Monkey has been leading the way when it comes to South Asian food. It began as an authentic roadside café experience, pioneering the street food scene that is now so popular. 15 years later, the restaurant is well regarded as one of Birmingham’s best foodie destinations – if you know, you know – and counts some of the city’s Michelin chefs amongst its happy patrons. Throughout this evolution, Raja Monkey has always stayed true to its ethos of being quietly brilliant, serving authentic, mouth-watering, soul-warming dishes created with passion.

This will be the first time that Munayam and his dedicated team will be bringing their culinary expertise to the city centre, offering diners the chance to fall in love with some of the finest Indian cuisine in Birmingham.

Munayam Khan says, “I am delighted to be hosting a special Indian dining experience in the heart of the city for the people of Birmingham. Harvey Nichols is known as the home of luxury and, as a chef, it is exciting to be able to cook and serve our food in such wonderful surroundings to new audiences.”

“We pride ourselves on bringing an authentic taste of India to Birmingham, creating vibrant dishes that bring our customers closer to the real India. I hope our pop-up kitchen will encourage old friends back to dine with us for this very special occasion and introduce new diners to the Raja Monkey experience.”

Constantine Tziambazis, Sales Manager, at Harvey Nichols Birmingham, added, “It’s wonderful to be welcoming Munayam and the Raja Monkey team to the Harvey Nichols kitchen. We are proud to be a home for the best experiences, tastes and flavours in the city, and I’m in no doubt our customers will love what’s on the menu for the event.”

The menu for this special event features a selection of mouth-watering starters like malai lamb chops or king prawns with green papaya salad, mains including slow braised Ox cheek in a smoky Rajastani red chilli gravy, or roasted Pomfret with Alleppey style mango curry, and a delicious Mumbai mess to finish. There are meat, fish and vegetarian options available.

Raja Monkey at Harvey Nichols, three course menu is priced at £45 and pre-order and pre-payment is required. Guests can order drinks on the day from the Harvey Nichols Bar menu.
