Coventry BID And Highly Sprung Remind Us All Of The Importance Of Home

At a time of lock-down, the Coventry BID team is looking at ways in which it can continue to bring some joy and entertainment to Coventrians, whilst being mindful of the current restrictions. They’re proud to announce:

This Saturday evening (28th March) at 6pm, the team is working in partnership with Coventry performers, Highly Sprung, whose breath-taking Home project will be streamed digitally via the Coventry City Centre Facebook page.

The spectacular aerial performance first came to the city in September 2019, so it’s a perfect opportunity to either experience it for the first time or watch it all over again from the comfort of your sofa.

Trish Willetts, BID Director, said: “We are incredibly proud of our city and very conscious that all of our businesses and residents are being affected by the current situation. Whilst we are, of course, on hand to support wherever we can, we also want to bring some joy too.”

“This week, we came together as a city and showed our support and gratitude to the NHS on Thursday night and we’re also giving people the opportunity to watch the fantastic Home performance from Highly Sprung on Saturday. We hope this will help to lift people’s spirits.”

Sarah Worth, Artistic Director at Highly Sprung, added: “We are thrilled to be able to share Home with new audiences working in partnership with the team at Coventry City Centre (BID). It was such a special project for us and showed us how creative our city’s communities are.”

“The whole piece celebrates Coventry’s resilience, its ability to find new ways to grow in difficult situations and we couldn’t think of a better message to remind ourselves of at this very trying time."
